Advantages Of a Stiffer Blow of Valve Spring in your Mini R56 Turbo
One problem with the stock OEM blow off valve ( BOV ) is that it does not hold much boost pressure. This causes turbo lag, poor throttle response and power delivery. The Alta blow off valve upgrade spring allows much greater volumes of Boost to be held in the turbo tubes reducing the lag and improving power.
The solution is a cost effective one that utilizes the stock Blow off valve housing, so there is not need to replace all of the blow off valve. Simply take out the standard OEM spring and replace in with the stiffer Alta spring. Installation takes 30 Minutes and no specialist tools are required.
The blow off valve spring will allow up to 40 PSI of boost pressure to be held.
